Jimmy mentioned that he looked at a place which, if I remember rightly, was about £140k a couple of years ago - there was a bit of a dispute as he thinks its now down to £100k and I think that's its now down to £120k. But, yes, Jimmy has changed the type of house he is after if my recollection is correct (ie going from a potential £140k purchase to a £50k purchase). Wasn't the old one near a colliery or something Jimmy?
You have lost me on that one. colliery ? 140k house ?
I will be looking at paying 50k for a nice house in a nicer area than i live in now, i really cant see how that is so hard to believe.
The type of house i will buy depends on how far the prices fall, a couple of 3 bed semis are already available for around the 40k mark around here, so it wont be to long before the 3 bed semis in the next town start heading for the 50k mark.0 -
I'm still a bit puzzled about this 'nice' place where you can buy a 'nice' house for £50,000. I know you called me a snob for saying that last time, but I still think you'd be hard pushed.
Like i have said before cleaver, nice to me is obviously different to what nice to you is.
I could go to a different area and pay 100k for the same type of house as the 50k one but i cant see what extra i would be getting for my money.0 -

Am I mistaken that you posted a property from Rightmove and I phoned the EA to enquire about it and you were surprised I did? I could probably go and find the thread but if you could repost the property that would be easier. If I have confused you with someone else then I apologise - bit unusual to so wrongly remember this type of thing though.0 -

What wil happen when a point comes when renting is cheaper than buying, I seem to remember that that was generally the norm in the past.0
