And the point of the link?
Ask HSBC what is stands for and they will say HSBC. It ceased to be known as Hongkong and Shanghai banking corp many years ago when it became part of HSBC Holdings.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. As an ex HSBC employee I can confirm that's the case. It doesn't 'stand' for anything any more, it's a historic thing0 -

"deposit/credit score/cash flow all fine"
that may be the real reason fine is no longer good enough for the best deals0 -
NoAnd the point of the link? ......... Simply to provide a source of reading for somebody instead of an abrupt response such as yours!
I gave a response to the post and corrected the OP on their error by calling the bank by it's wrong name. You just posted a link without comment. Your link was to the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. However, it was not to HSBC which the OP was talking about.
I was also wrong in that it does still exist but I meant it didnt exist in the context that the OP was using it.
HSBC’s name is derived from The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, the founding member of the modern Group. An important result of the acquisition of Midland was the transfer in January 1993 of the Group’s head office — but not that of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited — from Hong Kong to London. Midland Bank plc is now HSBC Bank plc. In November 1998, HSBC announced the adoption of a unified brand, using HSBC and its hexagon symbol nearly everywhere it operates.
It is similar to how BP is no longer British Petroleum (unless you are Obama)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. On the OP's issue, I doubt there is any connection between a PPI claim and a mortgage rejection. I would say that had I been mis-sold a product I wouldn't go back to that organisation with my future business.I am a mortgage broker.
