Typical experience goes as such: walk into shop, get phone out, open app, app won't load, go back outside until signal comes back, app loads, go back in shop, signal gone again, look for free wifi, connect to free wifi, app still won't work, realise I have to register for free wifi, spend 10 minutes registering for free wifi, go back to app, app still won't work, go back to browser, wifi has logged me out despite just registering, log back in, go back to app, app still won't work, open browser again, go past a hundred 'Welcome to LoseTheWillToLive Wifi!' pages, go back to app, app finally works, shop don't have item in stock anyway... aaaargh! It's 2014, why do these things not just work?
I feel your pain!

I ve invested in a mifi unit not just for 02 I hasten to add lol but that works sometimes. £25 and 99p for an unlock code. Huawei one. Our local cex is near cafe Nero and that works great, Mc Donald's is n t so good neither is the local council offices, all free wifi with no need to mither around joining etc. I'm very determined though0 -
I tend to find it works for me if I go into my settings and switch wifi off and then it defaults to 3g, maybe I'm just lucky.0

I find priority moments loads better on 3G outside the shop.
I select use it now before I enter and even if you lose your signal the code still stays up0 -

I've definitely had one that expired after a minute so could only press the button at the till which made me a bit wary but I think most are better than that? I did this just now getting my £1 lunch, I never get a very good signal in the train station so standing outside the station I had a look at the app and it said 15 minutes to use the code so I thought it'd be ok - not thinking about the other 100 people with the same idea, I was in the queue so long I only got to the till with about 30 seconds to spare!
That's a long queue!
You could also try a screen-save, most if not all smartphones do this and it does seem to work OK with most of the stores I've tried- they seem to need a code more than anything else and once they have used the code it wont work again which tends to deal with any issues over using the same offer twice which is the main thing that seems to worry stores I've used the app for.0 -
