How do I work out my maternity pay?

Is there a pattern to it?
As a nanny I've asked my employers to let me know what nannytax/the accountant says about my pay for nov, dec, jan & feb and they haven't been able to let me know.
The only figure I've had is my main employer for november, which is £50 less than what I worked it out to.
Is there a pattern? I've worked it out day-by-day - i.e. for 3 days in november I'll get 90% and for all of december is x many days by 90% and then x days at SMP.
If that makes sense.
Can anyone help?

You don't really give enough info...
Are you sure you are covering the same days as employer? ie you are covering the same period?
You should work out SMP weekly rate/7= daily rate x days in a pay period...
Though I have known people dividing it by working days times amount of working days in pay period.. Over time it will work out the same, the weekly rate will remain the same, it's just in which period you are paying some of it.0 -
I have a nanny and use nannytax, and they will definitely be able to give your employer the information you are asking for in the format you require. If your employer says they can't, then I suspect this is just because she hasn't asked them! They do charge extra for advising on maternity pay and generating the paperwork so that might be why. My nanny though has had two maternity leaves and both times Nannytax spelled out for me what her minimum entitlement was for each week of her leave (though we did pay her an enhanced rate anyway).0

Hi, one job I work 2 days a week @ £80 npd
the other job I work 3 days a week @ £84npd
And through my time off I'll have 3 rates of pay -
- full pay where I've taken a/l at the start of my maternity leave
- 90% of my wage for the first 6 weeks of my maternity leave
- SMP for the rest of my maternity leave.
What I'm trying to work out is how to make accurate calculations for what my income should be over this period of time.
i.e. in November I've got full pay for 2 weeks
then 90 % for the rest of the moth (2 1/2 weeks)
In december i'm on 90% for 3 1/2 weeks
then SMP for 1 week
And january and February will be all SMP
I calculated my daily rate on 90% and then SMP and worked it out day by day but it appears to be wrong....
hence my question as to how I actually work it out.
Does that make more sense?

Thanks Nicki - maybe I'll give them a call myself.. see if that can help me.0 -
I thought you could not have holiday and paternity running concurently
I thought maternity had to be one continuous period and only KIT days can be interspersed.
Accrued holidays need to be taken before or after maternity leave.0 -
I'm not using the ml and al at the same time. Using up annual leave THEN my maternity leave starts.0
