The problem was increased traffic due to the offer, and the offer being much further publicised than they anticipated.
The grabbit board has brought bigger and better sites than RU Craft to its knees, look at the Boots sale!
Good offer from RU, good spirit by the OP for posting it and everyone else for helping.

I think blaming MSE is a bit excessive! The companies website couldn't cope with an offer they put in place. I think blaming this website is hypocrytical! The company are at fault not anyone else.

I think that RU Craft probably intended this offer mainly as a bonus for their existing customers and maybe to attract some new customers and didn't expect the mass onslaught that they got.

I think that small to medium online Companies will start to think twice before making offers like this in future. Not all of them can afford web designers and so on to make sure that the site doesn't crash.

Well done anyway to all those who managed to get some items.

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Plus the game was clearly intended for individual use - not the kind of sharing of direct item codes that this site is so good for. If people had been working individually, I expect the site would have withstood a little more and perhaps more people would have benefitted. Don't blame the company for running an offer, that's just short sighted and bitter!
