in Cutting tax
i am self employed and bought a car 2 years ago on my 2004/2005 tax form i claimed back £1500 which was a simple calculation the car cost just over £12000 so i worked it out £3000 alowance shared by 50% but on this years alowance is it still the same or £12000-£3000=£9000 shared by 25%= £2250 shared by 50%=£1125 is that what i claim

The claim for this year will be the £12,000 less £3,000 claimed in the previous year leaving a WDV B/fwd of £9,000 multiplied by the WDA allowance 25% giving £2,250 less 50% private usage thus £1,1250
