Import Tax - Items bought from america

I've bought some DVDs from Amazon.com (america) and they have arrived fine.

I thought I'd have to pay duty/tax since the items were $80 and imported?

Could someone tell me if I have to specifically do something to pay the duty/tax?

The last time I bought something from america (over 5 years ago) I received a letter from DHL who had said they'd paid my duty and I owed them the money. So I just phoned them up and paid it off with my credit card.

No such letter this time and it's almost been 2 weeks since my order arrived.

Anyone able to help as I don't want to not pay the duty if I am meant to?
