Cheap 'decent' Christmas presents for childrens schoolfriends

Hi
I have three children... DD 12 years, DS 4 years and DD 3 years.
My eldest always wants to buy Christmas presents for a number of friends... my middle one has just started school and my youngest is at nursery. As we live in a small village the school and nursery are quite tiny so I have no doubt we'll be buying a few presents for the younger two childrens friends'!
I'm guessing presents for my eldest, her gifts will consist of smellies, bath stuff etc... as for the others, probably some little novelties from Hawkins Bazaar or something...
If anyone sees any offers that would be ideal, please let me know!
Thank you!

Having just cleared out the kids' bedroom of all those little bits of bobbins lying around, this year I'm going to suggest my two give their friends sweets and hope they get the same in return. You could buy cellophane cones from ebay and fill them with seasonal/cheap sweets. Try up with a ribbon and it'd look lovely0

What about making up a craft box for each of them? I do this for DD to give to her friends as birthday presents. I usually spend about 7 or 8 pounds. sometimes i buy a plastic box with lid, or maybe a cheap lunchbox/tupperware box from B&M?Wilco. All the bits and bobs usually come from the same kind of shop. I make my own play doh to go in it tho.
COntents differ as to what i can get for my money but usually include - sweets, crayons, pencils, stickers, playdoh, playdoh tools, chalks, notepads, pompoms, colouring pencils, coloured paper, paintbrushes, glue stick, PVA, patterened papers, sequins, .....................0 -
I done a small sweetie hamper last year, got some cheap santa gift bags from pound shop, done snowman soup, reindeer poop, santa kisses, Rudolf noses, everyone was talking about them

What about your eldest making those personalised chocolate slabs or chocolate pizzas. They look gret and are cheap to make. There is a thread on here somewhere.
She'd need to buy some chocolate, toppings, either celophane or cheap pizza boxes from Ebay.
No reason why you couldn't do the same with the younger ones and have a crafty/cooking afternoon and get them to help you make them for their friends too?????0 -
I think the idea from Mr Knight is great. Not only fun to do, but would teach the children that it is the thought that means more and Christmas is not all about how much money you can spend. I will definanetly do this with my son when he is older.0

bananas.co.uk is great for bargain books. I got 25 books for £27, with free P&P as I'd spent over £25! Really nice books, sometimes packs of 10 books too.0

If you have a tesco extra near by they are selling the Paisley (pink) notebooks pencils and other bits really cheap - pencils were about 36p for 5 books were under £ and I think there's was a small memories box in the range which you could pop some sweeties in all wrapped together in cellophane would look very nice and not cost the earth
