Meal plans WB 7th November

It doesn't look like this week's meal plan thread has kicked off yet, so shall I start as I've just done mine?

I went off plan twice last week :o so one thing turns up again this week:

Friday - chilli burritos
Saturday - hotdogs with fried onions and HM chilli jam
Sunday - chickpea and pasta soup
Monday - sausage and mushroom casserole
Tuesday - Welsh eggs
Wednesday - (probably) fishcake with some sort of veg
Thursday - veg satay noodles

I'm struggling for ideas a bit at the moment so I look forward to seeing what everyone else has got this week. :)
Back after a very long break!

Thanks CCP for starting us this week. I had a bad end of last week, as i'm getting poorly again. Dr has effectively put me on bed rest (if I can't do it sitting down, I can't do it) So the food budget and menu plans are going to get wobbly again, but I am going to try and keep them running anyway! But you find you'll beat me to starting the tread more and more now :D

NB. I have Insulin Resistance and therefore eat a Low Gi/GL diet, so sometimes the boys eat different or altered meals (I don’t want people to think I cater for fussy eaters!)

Friday - Pizza and Chips for the Boys and Gran! (Pork Chop and Cauliflower Cheese for ME)
Saturday - Toad in the Hole for the Boys and Gran! (Steak and Mushrooms for ME)
Sunday - Lasagna for 18 people as it's DH Confirmation
    Monday - Venison Burgers
Tuesday - [STRIKE]Pizza and Chips for Boys[/STRIKE] :silenced: DH made Pesto Pasta
Wednesday - [STRIKE]LO Pizza and Chips for Boys[/STRIKE] :silenced: DH made Pesto Pasta AGAIN!
    Thursday - Sausage Casserole

Wish me luck this week, hope everyone has a great week x

  • Hi everyone,

Still trying to clear out the freezer *rolls eyes*

Sun - Taco's & nachos (veg enchiladas for me)
Mon - Mince Pie, mash and veg
Tues - Asparagus Risotto & ciabatta
Wed - Spag bol & crusty bread (soup for me)
Thurs - Macaroni & crusty bread for kids/ Beef peppercorn rosti for adults
Friday - Chicken enchildas & nachos (either veg enchiladas or soup for me - again!)
Sat - Probably burgers - DD1 is meant to be have a sleepover...

Infact this might need adjustment - too many nights visiting mexico - that is what I get for writing down a months worth of meals :rotfl:

JulieGeorgiana - listen to your Dr and take care...
  • Did not go off-plan once this week, yay, though people have eaten the bagels for breakfasts so I'll need more for tomorrow's lunch. Next week is my eat-from-the-freezer/fridge/cupboards with the addition of £20 of fresh fruit and veg week.

Sunday (2 meals) -- chicken risotto (using something from the freezer that looks like the last of the Christmas turkey), frozen chili
Monday -- salmon fishcakes (tinned salmon, potatoes, the end of the tartare sauce I made last week), parsley sauce, peas
Tuesday -- Cold Weather Hotpot (a recipe from BBC using frozen mince; I will probably replace the baked beans with pearl barley and tomatoes)
Wednesday -- Greens Frittata with Mozzarella and Prosciutto (using up some mozzarella and some prosciutto! Thank you Google), hm coleslaw
Thursday -- Sardine and tomato tart (tinned sardines, frozen puff pastry), green salad
Friday -- we are going away, and taking chicken and pesto sandwiches in the car (homemade bread, frozen chicken, the end of a jar of pesto, mayo, rocket); before I go I will cook a giant minestrone.
Sunday -- we will get home late and eat the minestrone.

Reserve/following Monday meal -- smoked mackerel kedgeree.
Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.

Hi all, I'm back to meal planning again.

Breakfasts are Sainsbugs basics wheatabix for 3 of us and GF cereal for the 2 who are gluten intollerant.

Lunches are sandwiches, yoghurt, fruit, nuts, cheese, dried fruit and what ever I have baked for the boys (they usually have sandwich and 3 other items.) DH usually takes LO's into work. I will have soup.

I don't allocate specific days for meals but decide on the morning depending on what we are doing.

Chilli con carne and rice (slow cooker)
Sausage and mixed bean cassoulet (sc) with garlic bread
    Vegetable Korma with rice (sc)
Honey, mustard chicken and parsnips (sc) baked potatoes
HM lemon and thyme turkey burgers with veg chips
Rice and peas with mango chicken
    Salmon and broccoli potato bake.
