Solar panels to Inverter. Where to run the cables ?
Comments

Well my installation is now underway

Cables are going mostly behind the plasterboard. It needed some 3" square holes cutting; not as much trouble as I imagined.
Sunnyboy in coolish cupboard (north facing bedroom).
Scaffolding is up
But solar panels have been held up AGAIN
Supposed to come by Friday.0 -
This discussion seems to have lapsed, which is a shame... Just wanted to chip in that we had our inverter put in our dining room under the input electric meter, and I built a cupboard round the whole lot which has come in pretty useful. There are lots of ventilation holes. Having it there, it warms the house in the winter and I can easily keep an eye on it.0

Hi, my sunnyboy is fine in the North bedroom cupboard. The slight warmth is very welcome for 11 months in the year (OK some southerners have a different climate) and so its isnt totally wasted energy. The hum will only be bad in daytime.
The electronic inverters may be more efficient then my toroidal one, but I hear they are less reliable. That was from the MCS inspector who came here recently and seemed happy
