Renters need good landlords. Landlords need good tennants. There is no reason why there should be reasonable profit in this arrangement.
If there is no profit, why be a landlord?
In any rental agreement you pay more to rent for the short period.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

0 wasted on rent as mummy and daddy keep me. I do pay a potion of the bills as it does cost to feed me and power my TV etc but no actual rent.
I have just figured which ever path I could have chosen you would try looking down on me, stay at home = man-baby, rent = stupid.
I will keep my man-baby title a little longer me thinks, certainly the intelligent thing to do.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

I don't think anyone actually looks down on you. You seem to be doing the sensible thing and have the aspiration to be a home owner. Difficult to criticise that.0 -

Don't worry I already know that but thank you.
It just seems it wasn't long ago reweird was saying I should grow some and move out (ie rent), but now he is saying I would be stupid to do so.
Can't please them all.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

I’m amazed that so much has been posted on this thread, as it is obviously a wind up and Percy I think I’ve told you before ignore reweird.0 -

>100kInterested to know whether you are saying:
BTL is not profitable in Canada, or
...
I dont know the answer to that. It was a wider family thing the reason why I ended up with a stake in some lodge I can't even nip to and use at the weekends!
I believe a BTL property has to be commutable, not stuck out in the sticks.0 -

Isn't that what I agreed with? I thought so.0 -

So in essence you are taking great advantage out of your parents good nature. Not a surprise from someone yet to mature into manhood. Despicable really.0
