No because you are using figures from outside the year. The inflation and rthe average inflation for the year must be from 1/10/2010 to 30/09/2011. Anything else is a nonsense.
If you add up 12 figures and divide by 12, yes it gives you an average, but think about it, it means nothing except it is the average of the inflation rate of the 12 years ending on the end of each of the previous 12 months.
The inflation for the YEAR is the inflation for the YEAR, there can be no average.The only thing that is constant is change.0
