Sorry, but I don't buy that without evidence. How many RaR installations have been completed and then the homeowner either sold or remortgaged their house and then had a problem with the mortgage.
The schemes have only been around for a short period of time, so I imagine the numbers involved (if any) can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
(btw, I am prepared to be shown to be talking out of my backside here, but I need some hard and fast examples rather than conjecture)
Matt
I've seen it happen to a few people and thus mess up their sale.
My advice would be to not do it.0 -

And not a great start db1972, "Lets bash one RaR co. whilst bigging up another!"4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.0 -

Especially on a thread from 2011 in which the poster was talking of their mortgage product ending in summer last year!
I smell a particular type of tinned meat ;-)

Hard evidence - Have a scout around, the number of mortgage companies that do NOT accept freetricity s free solar lease agreement are growing.
Banks that do not accept their lease agreement are ;
Ascent - Birmingham building society - Britania - BDW Trading - Church house trust - Clysedale bank - Co - op - Engage credit - First National - Future mortgage limited - GE Money - I Group loans - J Casey & Co - JP Morgan - Kensington Mortgages - Katinas Housing - Mortgage agency services - Mortgage Express - Morgan Stanley - Northern Rock ** - North Yorkshire Home loans - Norton Home loans - Nottingham Building Society - Paragon - Paratus - Pheonix Community Housing - Platform Funding - Principality - Prudential - Preferred Mortgages - Redstone - Rooftop Mortgages - Skipton - South Pacific - Saffron - The Mortgage Business - West Bromwich
AND the list is growing fast!!!!!!0 -
You could have got a list that's a bit more up to date couldn't you? Come on, Northern Rock? taken over by Virgin Money over 2 years ago. Even if you've copied and pasted that list i'd suggest its well out of date unless you have evidence of the contrary?2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0

No reason why not, having a house that is lower to run will make it more attractive to renters and.the more time you don't have solar panels the more time your paying for electricity you could be getting for free so the earlier the better."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0

We got the go ahead a few weeks ago that we can have the panels installed for free but need to get the paperwork back by next Tuesday.
I have a few questions that maybe someone out there could answer please:
Our current mortgage product ends in summer 2013 which is when we will be emigrating (hopefully). My question is that will it be easy to get a buy-to-let mortgage with the panels on? Should we be a little more cautious as we are planning on moving away?
Also, would anything have to be drawn up in the contract between us and the potential tenant?
Having solar panels installed for free seems too good to be true. I'm wondering what the catch is.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks
I am not sure these panels will generate free electricity..Initial cost is very high and efficiency is low. On cloudy day there will be no electricity..0 -

Might be seen as rather foolish making an uninformed post as your first contribution.
This thread is about systems that are installed and owned by a third party so there is no initial cost to the householder and the electricity they produce can reasonably be described as free to the householder.
Also talking of efficiency out of context is meaningless (but a common use of factoids I've noticed, amongst those who oppose renewable energy). You need to explain why you think the efficiency is too low. Photovoltaic panels typically have an efficiency of 15 - 20%. Our other main use of sunlight - photosynthesis in agriculture - typically has an efficiency of 1-2%. Maybe we should tell farmers farming is pointless as photosynthesis is such an inefficient process ;-)

Northern Rock Asset Management sorry, no copy and paste here brother - I used to work in the industry for over 3 years!
Also freetricity are run by the same board of directors as mls property scandal that left many business men and women destitute, plus one elderly gentleman suffered a heart attack and died days after eviction - google mls paul williams - standard dot co dot uk0
