Morning all, got Saturdays breakfast on :dance:

S&H loves doing cookery at school.....for some reason....


brought home [to Mum] a huge [and I mean 'HUGE'] pie...which he proudly announced was 'for Daddy!'

Mum thought it was an apple pie....much like her own Mum used to make...you know...3 inches of pastry, quarter inch of apple type?

When I arrived to collect S&H who was staying with me that night....she advised me to 'get some cream'...or maybe make some 'nice custard?'

Pie was still warm, and smelt nice, like apple pies do....

whereupon, S&H turned up, wondering why we thought it was an apple pie [yuch!...His words].....it was a 'mince meat and onion' pie!


So...XOH and DD [who were stifling sniggers unsuccessfully]...would have had me making a bowl of custard for a mince 'n onion pie!

As it turned out that night, I 'had' to eat a slice for tea, with gravy, I hasten to add....yup... three and a half inches of pastry, half an inch of meat......'was it nice, Daddy?'.... I guess you all know you must be polite and appreciative when the kids proudly bring home food they've made.....


4 a.m. woke up with griping stomach pains....downed half a bottle of Gaviscon...next evening [whilst S&H was staying at Mum's]....I quietly 'binned' the rest of the pie...he thinks its in the freezer....

Why do the women in my life continually 'set me up'????
