I can certainly recommend the Lanson Black Brut - whether you'll like it depends if you like a dry champagne. If you do - it's a good one.

Veuve Cliquot is £24.49 per bottle in Sainsbury's at the moment and comes in a nice box so ideal to give as a pressie.

Another vote for Lanson Black Label. There's bound to be loads of deals on similar cheaper substitutes (cava, shop label champagne) in the run to Christmas. I always think I am doing well if I buy proper champagne for less than £12/13 and have to admit I am not that fussy, but would defo pay another 3 or 4 quid for Lanson BL which I love. I would also be very happy to receive it as a pressie. It is quite dry. Good deal at this price. sal x
