Is there an MSE "Recommended conveyencer" list?

I just got a quote and the firm said they were on the MSE Recommended Conveyencer list. I can't find such a list, can anyone point me to it please?

Thanks!

Not as far as I can see! Generally its a bit of a minefield since every person/area of the country/case is different.

Its also difficult to recommend a "firm". I can go to one firm of Joe Bloggs Solicitors in Hampshire and get good service from Mrs Smith. I can go to the same firm in Wiltshire and get bad service from Mrs Jones. I could even go to Mrs Smith and a friend go to the same Mrs Smith and get a different level of service dependant on how busy they are at the time.

I would suggest asking around your friends/work colleagues etc to see if any have used a conveyancer recently and can suggest anyone they think is good.

Maybe if they are saying they are on a list, they could point you to it? if it doesn't exist maybe that's a sign to avoid them!

I would suggest you look at the board admin forums at the bottom of the forum page and post it in there. MSE has had some unscrupulous firms claim to represent or have some affiliation to MSE in the past and they have taken action.

I'm going to phone them up and ask them to point me to this list!

The only reason I went to them was they were moneysupermarket.com's highest rated for my buying profile (i.e. loads of good feedback).

    I'll report back!
