Interview Tips and Techniques (Sticky?)

Which kind of questions are you referring to? The example based ones - that would be the STAR technique.
For any questions be honest and draw from your past experience, yes you can exagarrate a little - who wouldn't.
Only part of the interview process is based on your actual answer, some of it is judged on your ability to answer a question.
What feedback are you getting from the places that are saying no?
Feedback is key to getting a new role.
I Just loose the ability to come out with anything that sounds remotely intelligent..........At my last interview I was asked "Tell me about a situation where you have had to think on your feet &make a decision quickly........) cue me going "errrrm, well 'er .I do it all all the time (work with the public),but can't think of anything specific".
Next question "tell me about your current job" I've done my current job for the last 7 years, but still answered very "basically" instead of "selling" my role and skills.
I've never asked for feed back - perhaps its something that I need to do............0 -

Not a bad post, nothing new though and it is clearly copied and pasted from a number of sources.
Have a read through the forum and you will discover many people unable to pass the interview stage of an application.
The source is irrelevant, the fact is all the data is in one place to help them.

Doing it all the time is a bad answer. It doesn't have to be an amazing example, any example that is worth mentioning will probably stick in your mind. Next time you interview think of a few that stand out - one example can be manipulated to a variety of questions.
Feedback is always helpful - if you don't know where you are going wrong then you can't change it.0 -

The thing is that I come out of the interview kicking myself having (later)thought of good answers.......
I have started practising answers to the most popular interview questions and I suppose that the law of averages means that I'll be asked the questions that i'll have fantastic answers to sooner or later......
The annoying thing is I've obviously got the qualifications and experience that they are looking for as I've always got an interview - I just never get past the interview stage
As I'm lucky enough to be currently employed,I only apply for jobs that I really want - I have another interview next week and really want to "wow" them0 -

Sorry, I didn't realise that I am not allowed to pass comment unless it is to stroke your not insignificant ego
I don't know, it's the only reason I could fathom why you were posting pointless rubbish.0
