marks and spencer: self-service tills

Be warned: you cannot weigh fresh produce on M&S self-service tills. There is no sign to warn you before you start, and it lets you select your loose fresh produce from the on-screen menu, only to then say that produce cannot be weighed. Frustrating, especially since the queues for staffed tills are horrendous.

I've never had that problem and at the self service tills there would be a member of staff available even if it takes a day and age to get their attention, it sounds more as though the till you were on wasn't working properly rather then the entire self service machines now preventing you buy fresh produce.
I can't actually remember the last time I had someone from M&S serve me over the self service, possibly August? I only ever buy fresh produce which needs to be weighed (fresh fruit and vegetables). Not happened to me.0
