BIG e-peition to put an end to the free-for-all immigration and crowding (house demand). The petition is getting 1000 siggies every 20 minutes and may hit the required 100k in record time.

It appears that the sponsor has no problem with European immigration, strangely enough that is probably the very immigration that has most impact on British workers and would stimulate most signatures."We have no problem with immigration from Poland, which is valuable to all sides." The problem was the scale of immigration from other parts of the world. "The government must make a reduction in numbers from elsewhere. What they could do is reduce the number of work permits for the rest of the world.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2005/nov/04/immigration.immigrationandpublicservices'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
"Over the past ten years the government has permitted mass immigration despite very strong public opposition reflected in numerous opinion polls"
Time to replace elections immediately then.0 -

Err.....it began on the 20th October (i.e. 13 days ago) and currently has a little over 30,000 signatures. Are you sure about this?0 -
We don't need any immigration when we have so many people already unemployed. The only people who want more immigration are the fat cats and politicians who see £££ in their eyes at the thought of more cheap labour and BTL victims.0

Immigrants labour is substantially more "elastic" than domestic labour though, as due to (generally) having little family ties they are free to work throughout the country.
If domestic labour was more willing to relocate for work this wouldn't be quite so necessary.0 -
