Resole Dr Martens?

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of DM boots resoled? I've only had them 18 months and have almost worn through the sole. They're not made like they were!
I had shoes resoled previously but can't remember the price or where. These boots aren't like the other soles though, the sole kind of goes in under the boot IYKWIM?
I'm in Weston super mare for an idea of location. TIA :D

The boots are these ones, with a picture of the sole so you can all tell what I'm jibber jabbering on about!

  • I'm looking for someone who can do this too - I'll post a reply if I'm successful. I live in Bristol (still trying to work out how to update my profile, which says I'm still in East London, where I used to live!).

I was in town today so I went to Timsons. They wanted £52.50 to do them. There was another little shoe shop further down the hih street and they want £22.50 to do it.
It seems very expensive but I suppose that's what it costs. I only paid that price for the boots but I can't just throw them away. Too wasteful  the leather's still fine.
plethora, if you go to user cp at the top of this page, then look at the column on the left you can edit your details from there. HTH's :)

I was going to suggest Timpsons but ouch! £52.50??

OP it's not clear from the picture, but do the boots have a zip? If they do maybe make check the condition of the zips, too. You don't want to pay £50-odd to get them re-soled and then possibly another £20-30 on top of that. It might be better to just replace them?

If you're bothered about them having the same kind of unusual soles and looking the same, be careful that you speak with the actual cobbler and check they can get those soles and do them like they are. Else you might get what happened to me, where I thought I'd made sure I checked they'd be able to do my reheel of boots that had a particular, quite unusual kind of heel. The assistant said "Oh yes we can do those". Then when I went to pick them up the cobbler in fact didn't have that sort of heel, had used a different type, and had totally changed the design of the boots to make it work! I was seriously annoyed!
  • I found an independent place in Church Road, Bristol BS5, that will do them for £40. Not the cheapest, but it was convenient and I'm looking forward to having dry. comfy feet again (I practically live in those boots).
