Postage costs

Does anyone know if you can report companies that charge inflated postal charges to Scotland / Highlands and then send stuff Royal Mail (which has no additional cost)?

Even some couriers don't charge more but other than not using them if would be good to get fair deal across the land!

    Office of Fair Trading?

Don't fancy your chances much but it's got to be worth a try so good luck!

I live in the north west highlands and often have this problem, usually with Ebay sellers who either won't even post here (what is it? Outer ruddy Mongolia?) or who use Royal Mail but charge extra! The post office charges are the same across the board to anywhere in the UK, that includes the Highlands and Islands! But folks treat it like you can only get so far with the postal service and the rest has to be hauled in by donkey at hugely inflated cost. Makes me mad, and a couple of times I have asked sellers why, none of them have answered though. I can see the point when it's courier, but not the post office.

  • Thanks! Tried Office of Fair Trading and kind of got directed from there to a consumer direct website.

Just emailed them for what our rights are for this. I'll post back if / when I get a response.
