Asda Vouchers

Just wanted to warn people... last night I went to Asda and was told that as from 22/01/07 they are no longer taking your vouchers unless you're buying the product.

I think it's down to the Store Manager, although they do seem to have tightened up in some stores.
I was in Asda yesterday, a lovely store where they accept any manufacturers' coupons, any amount, any percentage (as long as not Book Tokens, internet prints or coupons cut from Supermarket mags).
Anyhoo, they were still nice BUT CS told me their Manager has decided they can only accept 10% now...!
Wish I had known that before I filled my trolley. At least the coupons I was using were free (Lindt choccy bunny ones from the yellow/green loose leaflet inside the Tesco magazine). These are OK in Asda as they are not store-specific, and I wanted to use them there as they don't scan at Tesco it seems.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi,
I can second Gollum's post. Last nigtht Asda (Peterlee) branch said they no longer take internet printed coupons. It appears to have been spoilt by people who have been scanning lots and lots of the same coupons. regards - sally0 -
Went to ASDA Oadby today, 24th January. Handed over my sheaf of vouchers and the girl on the till said she could take them up to 10%. That should have been vouchers up to £9.40.
The till took £5 worth and then refused to take any more - it put a block on somehow. This is different to last week when they did take 10% worth. I did not realise until I got home as I lose count when she is flashing them through the scanner, or I would have mentioned that £5 was not 10% worth and she may have overridden the block.
It was also a bit of a bummer as I queued at my lovely SA's till who will take as many vouchers as she can, only to have her taken off on her teabreak when I was the next customer. Still, luckily her replacement was quite obliging too!A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
I had the same problem yesterday at my local in Birmingham! Even self scan voucher/coupon machines are sealed with tape stating please ask for assistance! They will lose customers and eventually relax the rules. I might shop at Sainsburys/Tesco's instead if my vouchers are accepted......0
