Payment Protection Cancellation

I am 1 1/2 yrs into my personal loan. I stupidly got payment protection through HSBC. I am making a claim for 1 months redundancy. They cant find my details etc etc etc.

I am looking to cancel my payment protection, can i do this if i have claimed?
If I can, would I get a pro-rata'd amount off my amount?

If I cancel the claim, would I get the full 5 years amount back?

If you have claimed you cannot cancel normally but you would need to read the T&Cs of your policy

If you have not claimed you can only cancel from today forward and not get a refund for the period of protection you have already had unless you can prove they missold but from your original post it seems simply a case of you changing your mind.
