14* schuco MPE ps 05 series panels generating 3.01kW
sunny boy 3000 inverter and sunny beam

2yr workmanship guarantees and usual panel and inverter guarantees

edit : addition to quote: 10 inches of loft insulation - ha ha - couldn't knock off anymore cash - got this out of them instead
£11000

bearing in mind only a few weeks till Dec fit tariff drop and increased markup because of this and 3wk install date

I just got a 3.33 system for £10,700. plenty of others seem to have done better. but its all about time now. Not sure what the loft insulation is worth though. Interesting sweetner.

i said to the guy - as his company does loft insulation and cavity wall etc - while you are up there in loft how about some free insulation - about £200ish I'm supposing with labour

no doubt they are going to tell you how busy they are now due to the time constraints - and demand will push prices a bit no doubt

I paid £12.25k for a 4kW system in April, and prices have fallen since then, so it's over-priced; but might still be worth it if you can get a guaranteed completion AND registration on the MCS database before the December cut-off date, along with a written agreement of liquidated damages if they fail to deliver.

I'm sure there'll be no problem getting agreements in writing for damages should the system not be registered in time.

I trhink in a lot of cases, such an agrement would be worthless, and you'd likely just end up on a list of creditors if/when the company went bust. (Remember companies go bust for many reasons, one of which is it is advantageous to th directors to do so, wiping out any debts and getting any agreement burdens/guarantees etc of their back. Frequently, very siumilar companies open the next day with less staff,a clean balance sheet, and an outlook prepared for the changed business circumstances). I'm not saying any solar companies will do that, just that it is a possibility to be considered when relying on a guarantee.

A far better approachimv would be to get an agreement not to hand over any cash until after the system has been registered at the current fit rate, but somehoiw, I expect companies would be less willing to agree to that (in which case, a buyer should ask why).
