Credit refused - change of name

Hi my wife has just applied for a car loan on fianance, and it was refused, because she only has 2 months credit in her married name. We did however give all the details in her previous name but this never got sent through. So as a result it was refused and were asked to submit the marriage certificate, and now it seems to be going through ok.

However my query was because we have been refused will this have affected her credit rating or will this be overwritten now we have provided the marriage certificate. This is the first time either myself or my wife have ever been refused credit, and I don't want her credit rating to be detrimentally affected through no fault of our own.

Any advice would be appreciated.:money:

    Hi

Being refused for credit doesn't appear on your credit files. All that will appear is a credit search and it will not say if you were successful or not. So no it won't harm it.
