Eye Shadow Helppppp!!!!!

I recently bought some eyeshadows online to try out. I knew they were cheap but I have never used shadows and wanted to change my going out look as I always look the same boring black eyeliner.
But the eyeshadows I bought were not good. So light and rubbed off. The colours were good in the palette but putting them on it was very light and unable to build.
Low pigment?
Well I knew this would happen coz they were cheap. But I didn't want to waste expensive ones while experimenting.
So I wanted everyone to pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee help me find eyeshadows that are not going to kill my pocket money and these are the looks I REALLLY want to achieve

Best to buy a smokey eye palette or separate?
Hope everyone can help Thanks

Sleek is the answer! I buy mine from an afro carribean shop, but Superdrug stocks it - looks like a limited range - HERE (maybe only larger stores tho!) - it is cheap (about £6 or so for a pallette of 12 colours) but great quality and very highly pigmented - it was originally aimed at black women, which I think is why it is highly pigmented, to show well on darker skin tones, but I am white and very fair skinned and find it great!
A pallette lasts for ages and contains enough colours to try a myriad of different looks. I'm a massive fan!
HERE is the full range on their website. Looks like there are quite a few on ebay too.0 -
Urban Decay make THE best eye shadows in the world!
There's an amazing range of colours, they're densely pigmented and they last for ages.
They're not the cheapest though, but they do a product called Primer Potion, which is a cream you blend onto your eyelid and apply eye shadow on top. The Primer Potion can be used with any eye shadow, and it makes the colours much more intense, and they will not move or crease at all.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

Can you tell me though are they shiny? Like glittery?. I didn't want to look all metalic etc I wanted a nice half matt look0 -
With the ones you already have, try dipping the brush in water and then make a sort of paste before you apply, that may help, as you'll get more on the eye, the water will evaporate leaving only the pigment.0

I saw them. They are lovely colours but a bit too expensive for me to make a whole palette.Misty_Blue wrote: »Urban Decay make THE best eye shadows in the world!

Will try and get one or two colours from them

I'll try that.
Can't believe how bad these were though. Shows that you really do pay for quality. They are now my test in the bathroom shadows.

I think the Primer Potion is only about £11. It lasts for ages and because you can use it to make any eye shadow last better and be brighter, it sort of pays for itself. It would definitely improve the ones you haven't had success with.

Check out this thread http://www.specktra.net/t/141855/sleek-makeup-swatches for swatches of various Sleek palettes, with so many different colour combinations to choose from I'm sure you'll find one you like.
A friend in Asia asked me to buy a couple of Sleek palettes because she'd read raving reviews about them. Must be true if she's willing to have them shipped halfway across the world
