Of course, but the kids hopefully wont be tampering with the 500 volt cables.

DC creates no oscillating electromagnetic fields ( which some people believe are unhealthy in large amounts.)

    Hi

Recent posts are wrong and it is extremely important to understand this .... At the levels which we are talking about from pv generation and the way that the different forms of electricity effect the body ..... DC will likely KILL you where AC would likely merely give you a hefty shock ....

    ##Edit : The posts have now been amended/removed .... Thank you :)

    Hi

Recent posts doesn't mean all recent posts and the context has changed since posting (see ##Edit) ....

It needs to be established that at the voltages & currents apparent within a solar installation DC is far more dangerous than AC, it's not that it's 'still dangerous', it's far more dangerous and it's not the voltage which is dangerous as static electricity sparks resulting from simply removing clothing occur at thousands, or even tens of thousands of volts, it's just that the energy available is measured in millijoules due to there being a low current for a short time ..... it's actually the combination of current with voltage and probably even more importantly, time .... look up 'let go threshold' ...
