Referendum: Epic bailout fail

Could be the case, from hearing comments from Greek union leaders, it does appear that they just do not get it.0

Couldn't this just be a big gamble to try and ease the current civil unrest within Greece? When the people realise yeah, it's uber crap at the moment and then realise it could be a magnitude worse then they would be able to just get on with it?
The PM now commands less than 20% support. So its a call my bluff stance. As 75% still wish to remain in the Eurozone. Obviously the austerity measures are neccesary to do so. So at a point common sense has to prevail.0 -
seems sensible to me
if he loses then he resigns and some else takes over and the Greeks live with their decision
if he wins he has the moral authority to force through the austerity measures
either way hopefully the Greeks will see the result as broadly 'fair'.0 -
Well G-Pap has to get through a no confidence vote on Friday first.
If he fails then the referendum won't happen and there will be a general election instead.0 -

lovely phrase 'buying time'
time for what? to get worse? to get better? just to muddle on? to have more high profile meetings? maybe for events to happen to resolve the matter0
