  • How about an option for those of us who saw through the scams in the first place (endowments, PPI, energy), always check our Tax figures, manage savings & current accounts so that we never go overdrawn (Charges) , always check the mortgage terms & fees and get our insurance products from a specialist/broker and not the Bank!
Isn't it better to be a savvy buyer first & foremost? I'd rather keep MY money rather than give it to someone else and then fight to get it back.

I always remember the 'discussion' with the salesperson for my first ever Mortgage - back in 1987. Start as you mean to go on!
Me - Is this 'wonderful' Endowment guaranteed to pay off the mortgage?
Him - 'Past performance shows.....blah blah.... big cash bonus at the end ....blah.....' (The Tax incentive had gone by this point)
Me - more questions on the same line....
Him - more evasive answers .....
Me - Ok then, Will you give me a written guarantee that my mortgage will be paid off? - Just Yes or No will do
    Him - No
Me - Pass me the papers to sign for a Repayment Mortgage then!

You are missing the option - "no and don't plan to do it"

    Hi Martin :-)

Completely too late to respond but the option at the bottom - "never tried any" - doesn't cover the situation where you've tried some but not others (though you are eligible for them) e.g. I have claimed for lost Tesco points but have not claimed for bank charges even though I am eligible.

Nevertheless honored for you to have responded to my humble post - keep up the good work!
