Any good guides to the legal process of buying?

Hello, your frequently posting FTB here! As I understand it:

We offer for the property
It's accepted (after to'ing and fro'ing)
We finalise the mortgage with the bank
....then what?

We get our solicitor to phone their solicitor and get stuff moving. I expect it would be quite a long explanation to type out so if anyone knows of any good guides to the whole legal process, potential pitfalls and recommendations on how to proceed, please let me know.

The channel 4 homes website (Kirstie & Phil!) has quite a few guides under the Property tab.

I bought a used copy of Kirstie and Phil's "How to Buy a House" from Amazon for 1p + postage. It was packed full of good advice and pitched at a beginners level.
