Needs some advice please.
Just got my credit report from Experian and there is a default showing, the money has been payed and is showing as current balance: satisfied.
Should I have been told by the company that the default was going to be put on and do I have to wait the six years for the default to be removed?
Thanks
BWC.

Hi BWC,
I am in a similar situation as you, and from what I have been told here and read elsewhere, you should have been notified about the default and yes, under normal circumstances it will take 6 years to be removed.
I found this link however with some useful advice about potentially removing them if you were not notified - http://www.learnmoney.co.uk/credit-cards/remove_default_notice.html
Did you pay off the debt yourself, as otherwise a Debt Collection Agency (DCA) could have bought the debt hence it showing satisfied.

Hi Dan,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes I paid the debt myself and no I wasn't notified about the default.
Thanks for the link.
