Are continuous wear contact lenses any good?

Going for eye test tomorrow and wondering if continuous wear contact lenses are working out for people who are using them?

I use contact lenses on an on/off basis using glasses most of the time but love the idea of waking up with clear vision without surgery.
You'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel

I went from glasses straight to continuous wear lenses about 4 years ago. They've changed my life and I totally love them! As you say, it's amazing to wake up in the morning and be able to see perfectly :)

Obviously make sure your optician says that your eyes are suitable for them, and remember to go for regular checkups, as they can cause problems with the eyes not being able to 'breathe' if you see what I mean. Go for it! :D

thanks would like to know a bit more on this i wear mine mainly for sports but would like to wear them more often but sometimes it takes ages as i have not quite got the knack of putting them in
    thanks
  • I've worn them for about 6 years and it's the best thing I ever did! I was seriously considering laser eye surgery but this is the next best thing!

My eyes used to get dry after about 6 hours of using normal monthly ones but these are much better.

I wear 30 day extended wear lenses with no problems caused by them at all! Sometimes I totally forget by the end of the month.. not ideal but never caused me problems going a day or two over. I do suffer from allergies though so that can get annoying, but that's the same either way. Of course if it's high pollen season I often only go two weeks at a time.

I've worn them for years and I love them. Only minor problem I've had with them is that occasionally I'll wake up and my eyes might be a little gummy (for want of a better word) so just need to bathe them quickly. But in my mind is not a major issue compared to being able to see in the morning and not have to faff around putting them in and out every day.
