Electric Spinner

My mum is very old fashioned :rotfl: and still insists on doing lots of handwashing. Her old electric spinner gave up the ghost recently - where can I get her a new one from.

Its just a spinner that wrings the water out - it does not dry the washing in any way.

If you google Spin Dryer, you will come up with a few places that still sell them.
They save a lot of drying time, as they get a hell of a lot of water out of the clothes.

Spin dryers are great. They get loads of water out really fast so save masses of electricity if you use a tumble drier since they don't take nearly as long and if you use a clothes horse it stops stuff dripping and steaming up the windows. Also you can use them with delicate clothes that you couldn't put in a tumble dryer or a washing machine. My parents used to have one when I was little. Point is, don't laugh at your mum. I am only 24 but I spent yesterday morning up to my elbows in a big bucket of soapy water. Well worth the trouble to save on dry-cleaning and be warm and look classy in 100% wool.

Anyway you can get a spin dryer off ebay or from Loot, AdTrader or FridayAd. You'll have to look through a few pages of various washer-dryers in those classified ads depending who good their search facilities are but there are definitely spin dryers for sale in all of them. The classified ads in your local paper may be worth a look as well. They seem to go for around £20.

P.S. I bet if you Freecycle her old one someone will have it to try to fix.
