Those emails do sound like they are being reasonable, as they are covering you and them. However, if you want to find out more, do you have a union
I work in a bank - every member of staff is responsible of making the place tidy and clearing up after them selves. There are cleaners in each bank. but i still lift the rubbish bags to put them out - and the many confidential waste bags to be collected.
Also, have to lift bags of coins on occasion that i help the cashiers - trust me they are not light. or have to carry boxes of leaflets to rooms that have been delivered to the banking hall. This is not in my contract and role profile but it is day-to-day duties i may get involved in

Those emails sound dodgy to me. Badly written. e.g. what is a "back certificate"We all evolve - get on with it0
