There is no such thing as a cheap iPad, you might be able to find one on eBay but I'd be hesitant. We bought ours in the Apple shop and their customer service has been wonderful. I'd recommend them or John Lewis.
I guess you might be able to get a refurbished one from Apple, but for the sake of £40 I wouldn't.,___,

After weeks of searching for deals I gave up and went to tesco's, purely because it is the nearest place to our house that sells them. Might be worth buying from Argos if they have the gift voucher deal on. Apple seem to dictate the prices0

I looked into this over the last few days and found that everywhere was £399 for the basic one. Yesterday, I bought at John Lewis for the 2 year guarantee, but Tesco has 6 months interest free, which could be useful at this time of year.0

Thanks for the help guys, I've found that even when you have the voucher codes, loads of them exclude apple etc, think it may have to come straight from the apple store

Sorry I didn't mean voucher codes, I meant spend x amount and get gift vouchers to spend at a later date, sorry should of been clearer0

The Apple brand manages to cast a strange spell over people. No matter how expensive Apple products are people will always buy them. The result is that they just don't need to reduce their prices.
Prices from one retailer to another are basically the same.0
