Hi all. This quite a long story but I will try and keep it short, so you don't die of boredom reading it!
Have been in my current employment for about 4 years, and pretty much enjoyed it up til recently.
In May, a different part of the company took us over, resulting with us having different management. Ok so far. In June I was offered promotion. I did dither a bit about taking it, as it is a lot more responsibility for not much financial recompense in comparison to the other post I had, and I was unsure if I were capable of doing the job. Now I know you are going to say here, they wouldn't have offered it if they thought I couldn't do it, but I think I was the only one, as all, and I mean all the other staff were new.
I have been given no formal training in this new post, as I work with 1 other person for most of the time, and you are expected just to pick it up as you go along. Now, it's fine as long as the other person is there, as I can fall back on them if I have a problem.
I have tried to speak to the overall manager regarding my concerns over my lack of experience and being left on my own for the 12 hour shifts we do, and as usual she talked a load of flannel and didn't take on board anything I said.
I have spoken to HR about returning to my old post, but cannot do this as there is now no vacancy there, as I was replaced.
It came to a head this week, when I had to make a decision. (the other person is on leave) I made it, and she was on the phone first thing the next morning, saying what a mistake I had made and generally made me feel like an insect-even after me raising my concerns only 2 days earlier. She said it's common sense not experience...really?? I have never had to deal with that situation before, so how can it be common sense?
This has been going on for a while really, but it's only this month there's been a real problem.
It's really getting me down. I'm tearful, can't remember simple things, I'm getting headaches, mouth ulcers, cold sores. I'm not sleeping well, and my appetite is all over the place
I know I'm lucky to have a job right now, but it doesn't feel like it.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to handle things please? I don't know how much more of that woman I can take. I've shortened this quite a lot (if you can believe that) and missed out a lot of other stuff.
It feels like she a bit of a bully, even tho I can't actually say she is bullying me.
Thanks in advance for reading my epic tale

It's difficult to say seeing as we don't know the mistake or the level. However my response to any 'you've done it wrong again' would always to be 'Well, if you won't teach me how you want me to do it, then it's all on your shoulders. It's not like I haven't asked countless times for the training. Until we sort this out, it's likely that I will make more mistakes so why don't we sit down today/tomorrow/this week and go through it?'If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
