Using social Media to get a job

Hi Persa, this is really useful - many thanks. I shall apply some of what you have suggested.
No problem, I'm glad you found it helpful.
The Job Centre wanted to send me on what I thought was a pointless course, but I went on it. The speaker of that course spent ages talking about LinkedIn, which I thought was a pointless site, but I gave it a go.
I was then headhunted for an excellent job through LinkedIn.
Sometimes keeping an open mind really does pay off. I still keep my LinkedIn page semi-active (even when you have a job, you should continue to grow your network) and I'm constantly telling people I have a job and don't want another one, thank you. LinkedIn is now the first place I would look if I wanted to get a different job. More and more people I know are now joining.
Hope it works for you too!

A 'video cv' is only appropriate for people wishing to perform/present on camera, and is called a showreel. For anyone else NOOOOOOO!!!!!0
