Bitty....Bitty

Options
Been advised to try this forum for a problem I have. (and no it's nothing to do with breast feeding at 34yrs old) :D

My wife bought me a Dressing gown for xmas but it's a complete nightmare with black bits of fluff coming off it everywhere. I've tried washing it (about 6-7 times now) But still fluff everywhere.

I also tried getting a lint roller on it but still no joy.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Pete.
I'll get me coat!

Try washing & drying it. That usually helps.

Oh darn, I see you already have - sorry, I missed that bit somehow :o

Whats the material? I have one from Primark that I guess is mainly plastic bottles or something and that dropped bits everywhere at first - but it is ok now.

  • I find strips of masking tape / parcel tape work much better than a lint roller to remove "bits", although this is quite time consuming and does require outlay on parcel tape.
A damp cloth and some elbow grease can also work on "bits" depending on the texture of the fabric.
I have pets, and TBH the masking tape is the only thing i've found which "de-bits" things satisfactorily.
I'd be really interested in any other ideas though.
    Hope that helps.

Have you tried the velvety side of a clothes brush?

Try washing it and putting it through the tumble drier a few times, I find that can trap a lot of the fluff!
