Dear all
I am currently going through a nasty divorce and have moved out of home for which we both own. We have taken a payment holiday on the mortgage so I can pay rent on a flat. The problem is that I am being crippled financially by my ex as she will not sell the house. Everything I am having to buy i.e food, new items for my flat etc has gone on credit cards as I am having to pay my solicitors as my ex is being nasty.
I have now started going over drawn and missed a few payments on the cards so I can't get loans or further credit cards/balance transfers because of this. I have a current loan also for which I took out to clear the last loan and my car which was on finance so my payments reduced.
I'm in desperate need of some way I can pay off my cards etc on the short term until my house sells and I will get my share of the sale. Unfortunately my last court hearing is at the end of March so the holuse wont go on sale until then plus she'll be difficult about viewings.
Could someone suggest the best way to get around this problem I am in as soon I wont be able to buy food! My solicitor is quite fat!!! Funny that eh!;)
Look forward to any suggestions.
Many thanks
Dan

Thank you for you concern. I'm pretty stressed by the whole thing and everytime I try and solve it I hit a brick wall! I can't believe the law is so that she can have the power not to sell if I want to. I should charge her rent for living in my part of the house!!! :-)
I hope someone can help0 -
best to post the full details of your financial situation (called a Statement of affairs SOA) along the following lines
An SOA Statement of Affairs
a. list of income
b. a detailed list of spending (include mortgage and secured debt but exclude unsecured debt)
c. a total of spending as above
d. now you can see how much you have to pay debt monthly by forming income minus spending
e. a list of unsecured debts
i.e. debt amount, minimum monthly debt repayment, APR
f. a total of unsecured debt and of monthly unsecured debt repayment
how much is the house worth and how much the mortgage,
are there any children.0 -
do you have to rent a flat, could you not rent a room or move in with a mate. the cost of running a flat as a single person is huge. or even a bedsiti will be debt free, i will0
