Sock Cupcakes

I feel a bit silly asking this but can anyone give me instructions on how to make the 'sock cupcakes' as I'm hoping to make some for a friend who's having an operation around Christmas time.

Also does anyone know if it would work if it was put inside a mug instead of a cupcake case??

One of my granddaughters loves strawberry milkshake so last Christmas I bought a milk shake cup from Ikea http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70149677/ and put 2 pairs of rolled up pink fluffy socks in it. Hey presto - strawberry sock shake! I'm sure socks would work in a mug too.

My other grandchildren like hot chocolate so they had Snowman Soup.:)

I just rolled up the sock (individually as too thick together). Rolled from toe end, then opened to end of the sock once rolled and pulled it over sock roll to hold it together
