Customs form C160 and no receipt

in Cutting tax
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help with this... I recently went to Marrakech with a friend. While there my friend bought me a rug as a present, and as it was too big for my suitcase, I posted it myself at the main Marrakech post office. I added as value £50 as I didn't know exactly being a present etc.
Now I have received a Notice of Arrival of Goods letter from customs with a C160 form to return. Problem is that it requests for a receipt showing the value of the item to be enclosed with it but being a gift I don't have one.
Will they accept my explanation above or can they retain the package? I can ask my friend to write a letter confirming, is that likely to help?
Thanks a lot
Eva
