in Cutting tax
Hi,
I have recently accepted a job with another company. The present company offered me a zero hour contract. I want to keep this zero hour contract and also want to join the new company as my main source of income. As I don't want to pay higher tax on BR/1
What should I do?
Thanks,

Complete a P46 when you join the new company. Tick Box B to say you have another job - code BR will be used.
After first pay phone HMRC and ask if you can have the tax codes switched around so that your main tax code is on the new job.0 -

Am I going to get the refund of the excess tax deducted from my Pay? Secondly, do I have to inform my first zero hour contract job, that I have changed the job now OR HMRC will inform them.
Do I have to take the P46 with me when going to start the new job?0 -

if you are due a rebate, then yes.
Will you be working at both jobs regularly or is the zero hour contract job just going to be occasional? How much will you earn in the new job?Secondly, do I have to inform my first zero hour contract job, that I have changed the job now OR HMRC will inform them.
HMRC would send out the new tax codes to each employer.Do I have to take the P46 with me when going to start the new job?
In the absence of a P45 your new job should ask you to complete a P46. However if they don't then complete one and hand it to them.0
