Isn't a DRO a DRO

Options
I did a credit check and it said this:

Under court information it says I have "1 Current" and type is Bankruptcy Order. Are these two things correct?

Isn't a DRO different to bankruptcy?

Not 100% sure, that is why you are better asking these questions in the right forum.

  • Yes, it is. But credit reference agencies for some reason record them as bankruptcy, and not DROs.

Wonder if there's an experian/equifax rep around on the boards who could explain why?

Technically, a DRO is not a bankruptcy, but both are types of formal insolvency, in the long run it probably doesent matter which way the are recorded, in both cases you have had your debts wiped legally and caused damage to your creditors and so should affect your ability to get further credit for a period of time. It would be nice though if these things were recorded accurately, so yoy could pursue it, but even if it was recorded correctly it is not likely to help your ability to get credit.

anybody got any ideas on this one, came back from Canada after being scammed, took evidence to FOS, although found in my favour, totally screwed up the consequential losses, can't change the process as decision is made, but got some pretty sheepish emails back from them, so with the independent assessor, can't accept decision because of losses to low, but my dilemma is, part of the decision was to remove the bad credit history, which 1. would have allowed me to gain credit to pay off debts 2. would have given me sums to pay off debts, can't even get the most basic bank account, tried HSBC, lloyds TSB, Barclays, credit agencies throw out the application.
So my only option is DRO, whilst I persue the creditor through court. Best way to set up DRO please any experience?
By the way the reason for the DRO is that the debt is to more than one creditor, & the creditor not involved in the section 75 cca has sold the debt on to the point of imminent ccjs.

Some of the CRA's don't have a system for showing a DRO, so show it as bankruptcy, Equifax to my certain knowledge do this. If you need a credit check for a job and they use Equifax it can cause problems as my daughter discovered a couple of months back, she ended up sending copies of all her paperwork to prove this was incorrect, and thankfully her employers were OK about it, not all would be.
