If you have never had a CC, you are frankly unlikely to get a cheap card with a £2k credit limit, unless you can demonstrate a decent history of being a responsible borrower.0

i keep getting them offer through the post and have never needed to use one. But my credit score is good, why would i not be accepted?0

Maybe you will, who knows? But don't rely on it. You may find that when they start the actual process rolling they start you off with a limit of £500 to see how you do, for instance. Credit scores from sites like Experian are at best a loose guide, each individual lender has their own rules and systems, but typically one thing they like to see is a history of responsible borrowing. To get my first credit card I had to borrow a grand from the bank for a year just to start getting a credit record of paying back in a time - before that I had no credit history for anyone to base lending decisions upon.0
