    WOW!!

I sent my email to the exec complaints team re:my 2001 onwards cahoot loan less than 2 weeks ago. Just had a call from someone in their team, who has confirmed that as a gesture of good will, they will be refunding me over £2300 based on the difference between original rate and the other rates charged!!

Total result, and very nice chap on the phone. They were such barstewards when i was closing the account mucking me around with changing settlement figures and additional chrges, that i swore never to go near them again ever ever. Still not going to be first choice for banking products, but their handling of this has definately redeemed them somewhat in my eyes!

How annoying.. Was your account amount particularly big or complicated in terms of length and number of interest changes?

Did you send it by email or post? Was it to Santander executive complaints, and have you had ANY reply at all?
I sent it to the CEO email, and had a confirmation of receipt the next day, saying they would investigate and come back to me as soon as possible.

It might be worth giving them a nudge? If you didnt send it there to start with, maybe email the exec complaints team.

It was probably more complicated than most, yes :)

I did the same as you and emailed the CEO, had the confirmation receipt etc.

Decided to give them a call anyway (wanted to ensure the contact details they held were correct etc.) and the operator informed me there was a large deposit to the account today, but it hadn't cleared yet - the amount?

    £2,756.44!

I can only assume this is a payout for the complaint :rotfl:

It means the outstanding amount on my loan is now less than £1k!

Will wait on any paperwork etc. as I'm keen to also know if they've lowered the APR on loan - I would assume so otherwise I'd just be able to complain again in the future, right?

    Really happy :T
