Well after being sent a draft email from a kind member here (you know who you are, cheers!!) I have hunted high and low for my cahoot paperwork, or any emails from them, and cant find anything. I know the account was paid off about 3-4 years ago, so how can I find my info? Or could I just send off an email with my address and DOB in?

How long did you wait for your letter from Santander after the 'second' phone call advising of the value of your refund? I got called last Thursday (1 week ago) but havent had anything through yet but i have had the refund as i called Santander C/S (01908 719137 is the direct line by the way!) to confirm.

My complaint email to acknowledgement email - 1 day

My complaint email to phone call advising refund - 12 working days

Call advising refund to letter and cheque arriving- 6 days (was told "early next week" and it turned up on a Thursday).

I somehow doubt they will action it from just that- even if they could. You may need to write and do it as a request to view the information held on you without mentioning why, and then once you get that back with your account details, then send your complaint. After all, would YOU go out of your way to help someone if you were likely to have to fork out as a result?

(not trying to say you are wrong to expect their help, just that they don't show signs of being overly helpful!!)

I'm in a similar position in that I can't find any paperwork either, although my loan is still active so I got the account number from my online bank statements without any hassle at all.

You should be able to get the details from your bank statements as well. If you don't have paper copies, then you should be able to access them online (depending on your bank - LloydsTSB, for example, digitised all of their historical bank statements a few years ago) but if not, just phone the call centre and ask them to check for you and then re-issue the relevant statement.
  • Does anyone remember filling in manually any loan application for a cahoot flexible loan? reason i ask is i have my original loan agreement, all applied for and signed online..... raised a query with santander when they sent letter re my refund calculation regarding the apr % they calculated...they are stating loan was 6% more when initially taken out, than the paperwork i have.

Anyway had a call yesterday and woman said they had found my original loan application and their calculations are correct. I stated I also have the original loan application and can assure the apr quoted is incorrect, to which her response was oh good can u copy and send that to me pls.... i was like eh nooooo ill see urs 1st pls lol, anyway she stated the paperwork she has is all WRITTEN out by me!! and actually physically signed and is dated 2 weeks before the loan date I have on experian and on my loan application paperwork!! when I queried this she stated well u would have had to post it and cahoot would have had to process it hence the time difference !!! I think she talking total rubbish cahoot was a paperless bank... my application was made and signed online... does anyone remember filling in any forms and posting??? ty in advance xx

Was January 2004, supplied with book of T&C's, interest rate was10%APR.
  • I received a latter via the FSO regarding this cahoot flexible loan. Santander have agreed to 're-work' the entire loan dating back to 2001 when I first took the loan out, and as a gesture of goodwill they have deposited 150 quid in my current account, while I wait for the outcome. Just need to wait and se what the 're-work' produces, hopefuly some good news, as in my eyes, this was a complete rip-off from start to finish!
  • Can anyone help?!

I took out a Cahoot 'flexible' loan in 2003 and have a current balance of approx. £3.4k. My current interest rate is 16.1%. I have no record of the original terms of the loan.

Would I be able to make a claim and if I can, then what would be the first thing to do?

    Many thanks!
