Thanks for that recipie I think I will give it a go, now I have found the lost packet of marzipan in the back of the now nearly empty fridge. I also have a lot of apples in the freezer. I think I had better wait till the christmas cake is gone though.

    Hi MadDogWoman,

There's an older thread with some ideas so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.

  • Sorry to the person who originally posted this recipe for pre-Christmas traybake! Here's the link, it doesn't use a huge amount of marzipan, but you could make more than one....it's irresistable!

I would second the site mentioned by noonesperfect. The pre Xmas traybake went down a storm here and I will definitely be making it again ...and again and again.

Dutch Boterletter (Marzipan sausage rolls really)
Rollout a pack of puff pastry i, fold over and seal nto an oblong shape.
soften the marzipan (squodge it around in your hands) roll into a long sausage shape, then put it on the puff pastry, seal the edges. fit onto a baking tray anyway you can ie straight, curved or circle.Glaze pastry with milk or egg
Cook for 30 mins gas 7 til golden, when cool cut into slices.
It's a sort of danish pastry type thing.
If you fancy doing some along similar lines but more fancy tou could slash the top of the roll then once it's cooked paint over some sort of sticky galzaand then add flaked almonds or pecan nuts to it
