TDM Tamarisk Debt Management Help

Hi, this is my first post on these forums and I'm looking for some help regarding a debt management/collection company. I currently have an arrangement with a company called TDM or Tamarisk Debt Management. This all started when I used to bank with Natwest. For some reason there was an error on behalf of Natwest in which they paid a set number of payments into my current account without my knowledge, and they were supposed to be for another customer. The first payment they credited to my account was for £400. I made them aware of this and was told over the phone by a customer relations manager that 'if no one comes to collect the funds then it is rightfully mine', I didn't agree with this and therefore kept the money in a seperate savings account for the day they came to claim the money. But over the next few months they paid several smaller amounts into my account totalling £1,200. Unfortunately I made the mistake of not checking my statements enough and did not realise this was in my account (young, student and a bit stupid).
I then received a call from Natwest asking for the money back, I advsied them what had happended re. the original £400 being credited to my account and explained what advice I had been given but I also told them I had kept the money to one side for when this happended. But I also explained that the further funds they had credited to my account I was not aware of and was quite shocked when the told me this. Natwest stated that I could pay it all back (obviously I couldn't afford this) or pay it off bit by bit at my own affordability (which was good of them), but they stated they could not have an outstanding debt on their sytems and this would have to be referred to TDM/Tamarisk Debt Management.
I agreed to this and agreed to pay off £100 per month. Being a student at the time I gradually realised I couldn't afford this amount and dropped it down to £10 a month and have since being paying this off.
My problem is that my last contact with TDM was over a year and a half ago to setup another STO fromy my new bank account, but I have not been able to contact them since (via writing, phone, or through Natwest). I needed to contact them to see my outstanding amount left to pay but with no success I have decided to cancel my STO as I don't want to pay money to a company that I can no longer contact.
I have searched the internet for all information I can but I have found nothing, I found a website which stated that the company is no longer trading, of which I am not sure if this is accurate.
This all started back in 2006 and really would like to get this issue sorted and the money paid off but am having great difficulty in doing this.
My recent contact with Natwest showed I have no outstanding debt with them and they have no record of anything being passed to TDM and have no knowledge of who TDM are. I am more than willing to pay this money back but really need to contact TDM to do this. Any help in this matter in finding contact details or any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, Natwest advised me this would not be recorded on my credit file, and I believe this is the case as I got a copy of my file and it doesn't appear to show on there.
Cheers,
Stuart

The company seem to have been closely linked to Natwest/RBS.
Not sure if they were actually run by them or just used by them a lot?
However, the company's consumer credit license lapsed in 2008.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks for reply. My most recent letter from them is dated 10.02.09 which means they have been operating without a license. I'm not sure at all what this means??
The letter I have also states they are based in Tweedale... I'm really at a loss at what to do here
Thanks again0 -
Just a quick update on this to see if anyone had any more advice on this matter? I have since tried to contact TDM again with no joy again... I am still a little confused as to where I should go from here. Thanks for any advice0

Hiya, i just googled these clowns for the same reason.
Not sure if you still need this but I have some contact details for them in Birmingham? I just got correspondence this month for a VERY similar situation that arose with RBS?
Let me know0 -
I did manage to get in touch with them in writing. They advised me their phone lines had been suffering problems, I was trying to get in touch with them for over a year so I find this strange.
I managed to re instate my sto and get a run down of amount owed, I'm still very suspicious of this company as Natwest still have no idea who they are when I query it. I reduced my sto to £10 a month and never receive any correspondence from them. As I mentioned above, it isn't showing on my credit file. When I stopped paying the sto for a while I received no notification or correspondence from them either, it was me who chased them! It seems like a strange scenario to me0 -
The address I have for them is a po box in tweedale0
