What can I use for a shopping hamper?

My Dad said he would really like and appreciate a hamper for Christmas.
Things like food cupboard items (tins/packets etc) and cleaning items, plus lots of goodies are on the list at the moment, but I'm struggling what to put it all in.
It will weigh a fair bit so I don't think a tarted up cardboard box would do ~ does anyone have any other ideas please?
(And for a laugh, my daughter is going to wrap every item up too :rotfl::rotfl:he's gonna kill us! :A:D)

tinned salmon, small xmas pud and sauce, nice cake/biscuits etc0

A childs plastic toy box, I use them all the time for my supermarket shopping rather than bags, they are very strong and some of them have fitted lids.0

Wilkinsons usually have nice wicker baskets that are designed for storage.
If you aren't too fussy then you could use a plastic laundry basket and thread Christmas ribbons through it.0 -
You could get some nice hemp reusable shopping bags to put your hamper in. He'd be reminded of your gift whenever he's shopping. I seem to remember places like vistaprint doing personalised ones fr a few quid and I think they has a code recently. I've no idea if its still in use. (Sorry, I'd look but I'm typing one handed while eating my lunch as off to work soon).
It's only a game

You could put it in a small suitcase if he would have use for a small suitcase or holdhall.

Now why didn't I think of that! One of those would be perfect, thank you!! :Thorsechestnut wrote: »Wilkinsons usually have nice wicker baskets that are designed for storage.

I don't think we'd get it all in a wicker basket, the list upto now is quite big with large items in it (washing powder etc), but thank you

He hates shopping and wouldn't have a use for reusabale bags, hence us doing him a hamper. He gets bits as and when he needs them and very rarely gets a large shop

He doesn't travel (won't fly and hates trains) so a suitcase wouldn't be used again, he already has a couple of holdalls too, but thanks for the idea!
I think I'll go with the plastic toy/storage box idea as I'm sure we'll be able to fit all the goodies in. I think Wilkinsons have them and they're quite cheap aren't they!
Thanks for the suggestions though guys! :T xxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
