DD has an interview in 10 days for a part time job in Boots. It's an hour long interview plus she has to go on the shop floor.
Aside from that we have no information on the structure of the interview.
Anyone been through an interview with so can give us some tips/insight into what to expect?
So far plan of action is:

Anyone been through an interview with so can give us some tips/insight into what to expect?
So far plan of action is:
- to visit store and make sure she is familiar with the layout of everything
- to try to think of essential items if she is tasked to put together a basket for a customer's specific requirements
- to find out opening hours of branch and what services they offer on a Sunday
- to put together an answer of why she wants to work there
- to try to list her skills/abilities etc. and how they relate to working in Boots (this is hardest as she has no relevant work experience).

A friend had a Boots interview about 2 weeks ago. She has told me this:
Interview was carried out by store manager and a person from HR was there but did not participate other than taking notes.
General discussion about the application - confirming details etc.
There were 3 or 4 interview questions, e.g. Give details of a time when you provided good customer service, explain a situation where you made a mistake and how you learned from it. etc.
However, she did tell me that the questions were selected from a list and that the manager kept saying "your next question" so it would seem that questions asked are relevant to info supplied on application so if your daughter has not had a job before questions are likely to reflect that.
Shop floor bit was as follows - She was asked to name a product that appealed to her personally, when she did she was asked to go to the product. She was then asked how she would sell it to different ages of people.
Next to hair care products - asked to explain what to do if a customer looked as though they needed help, how to approach them. Then asked what to do if a customer said they had been using the same hair product for a long time but felt it no longer worked.
Then to No 7 counter where they were told all benefits of a hand cream and then had to approach a real customer and explain all to them (inc rubbing it on to customers hands!)
Finally to Xmas gift area - asked what they thought of the display, what they would do differently, what was most important about product displays etc.
Gosh, that is a long post but I hope it helps. Good luck to your daughter. Please let us know how she gets on.0 -

No to passport but she's been told to identify a product she likes. I've told her to go for something she uses a lot and likes. She's very into make, nails, hair etc. so it will probably be something from that, though I told her not to rule out basics like soap etc. It needs to be something she can talk about though.
Ps good luck x

She has to take with her to the interview proof that she is eligible to work in the UK.
Does she just take her NI card or should she take her passport as well?

If you bring your NI card you also have to take your birth certificate (and marriage certificate but guessing that is not applicable). So I would just take the passport.
This goes through the various options from an employers pov i.e. what they should ask for

which should help.

DD had her interview and was told she would know by this evening if she had the job. She's heard nothing so

She was asked a few questions i.e.:- when has she demonstrated excellent customer service skills - she's never worked before
- why did she want to work at Boots
- when has she worked as a team
- when has she helped someone
- demonstrate/sell handcream to a customer
- explain how she would sell a certain make up to an older customer
- how she would approach a customer who was picking up and putting down various products
- what she would advise a customer who was unhappy with her current shampoo
